Abstract

In several countries, including Indonesia, and East Kalimantan, people are not prepared to deal with Covid-19, so they are afraid of getting infected with Covid-19. East Kalimantan ranks 7th in Indonesia and has the highest Covid-19 infection rate outside of the island of Java. The high number of Covid-19 infections naturally affects the psyche of people in East Kalimantan. Hence, people in East Kalimantan need to improve their spirituality, so they do not have to worry. This study aimed to assess the level of community spirituality during the Covid-19 infection. The method used in this study is quantitative analysis with description using SPSS 25.0 software (n = 538, age = 18-60 years) by online questionnaire. The results of the study showed that the level of spirituality of people in East Kalimantan was low for both men and women. This caused disruption to social interaction, anxiety, and stress. However, the people of East Kalimantan have embraced and accepted the situation and hope that the government can defeat the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The era of globalization has affected the moral decline in terms of generations. Family, environment, and friends play an essential role as a source of moral knowledge and experience to keep generations out of moral decline. The purpose of the study in this research was to focus on the Islamic morals of Y and Z generations, born in between 1980-1994 and 1995-2009, based on the Ten Commandments written in the Al-Quran Al-Anam [6]: 151-153. This Research used 217 participants (Y generation=67, Z Generation=150). The method of this study used quantitative approach with Islamic moral scale which consists of 26 items. The scale was distributed online by simple random sampling technique. The questionnaire summarized the Ten Commandments into five values - Tauhid, Family, Humanity, Justice, and Honesty - based on cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects. This study found differences between Islamic morals in Y to Z generations, where Islamic morals declined from Y generation to Z generation. Then, three factors - namely Family, Environment, and Friends - significantly influenced Islamic morals on Z generations. In this regard, the family, followed by peers in succession, played an essential factor in forming individual Islamic morals. In addition, there were differences in Islamic morals between generations.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to explore the concept of qalb which is explained in the Al-Quran in order to describe qalb according to the wishes that explain qalb, in this case is the Al-Quran. The research question was whether qalb in the Qur’an can be conceptualized based on the Qur’an and sunnah (hadith that explain the Qur’an). This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to the Qur’an with the Qur’an. The primary data in this study were the Al-Quran and sunnah (hadith that explain the Qur’an) while the secondary data in this study were from books and journals whose explanations are related to qalb. The results of this study have theoretically proven that qalb can be conceptualized based on the Al-Quran and sunnah (hadith which explain the Al-Quran). It is hoped that the results of this research can be followed up by operationalizing based on the findings in this study to build a qalb measurement tool that have not been found around the world. Across-sector collaboration is also needed to continue this research which must also prioritize the Qur’an rather than human opinion so that it is clear to distinguish psychology in general from Islamic psychology.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries affected by Covid-19 virus. These impacts influence both physical and psychological health. This study aimed to conceptualize the elaboration of Sufism values with psychology to deal with Covid-19. The research was conducted with a literature review. This research showed that many values of Sufism play an essential role in dealing with Covid-19, for example seclusion is the essence of physical distancing to prevent individuals from worrying; zuhud, qana'ah, and tawakal attitudes prevent individuals from stress; meditative dhikr helps individuals turn irrational thoughts into rational ones; and imitating Sufism as a social movement can create an impact on the society so that they can face Covid-19 together. Thus, this study found that Sufism has a down-to-earth role, namely improving the mental health of individuals during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aimed to observe the correlation between the Islamic Religious Coping and the Problematic Internet Use (PIU) with the self-control as the mediator variable towards the university students in the COVID-19 pandemic. This study used purposive sampling technique, involved 304 active university students, male and female, 17 to 26 years old, muslim, and currently undergoing online learning. It used Iranian Religious Coping (IRCOPE) scale, Self-Control Scale (SCS), and Generalized Problematic Internet Use-2 (GPIUS-2) that have been adapted into Indonesia language. The data analysis method used is SEM analysis using the path analysis model with AMOS 26.0. It showed that Islamic religious coping had a direct effect on self-control (p=***; 0.300) and self-control could impact the problematic internet use indirectly (p=***; -0.226). However, the Islamic religious coping was not able to impact the problematic internet use (p=0.229; -0.70). This showed that the hypothesis was accepted as self-control could be the full mediator variable towards the problematic internet use.

Abstract

This paper examines the psychoreligious dimensions in a therapy perspective, which can be performed on people affected and those who are not affected by the 2019 corona virus (Covid-19), because pandemic situations often cause social chaos, and are often even discovered from religious thought and the socio-religious community. The kind of research in this paper is library research, using a qualitative-philosophical approach. The data were analyzed by using the Religious Cognitive Emotional Theory (RCET). This study found; first, physical healing efforts require realistic religious thinking to explain that the purpose and meaning of their life is very important, and keeping the body healthy is the most important teaching of religion. Second, the therapy process can be carried out by the therapists by directing clients into three main dimensions: psycho-religious, cognitive-religious, and spiritual-religious. The findings in this study contribute to increasing the treasures of thought in therapy disciplines in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to find out how Islamic psychology views cutting behavior and how to overcome cutting behavior according to Islamic Psychology. This research was a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data collection technique was done by searching for sources of books and journal articles with the theme of mental health on Google Scholar and Scopus. The data analysis was carried out by collecting data, breaking them down into units, synthesizing, compiling patterns and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that cutting behavior is a form of human reaction that experiences problems, anxiety, or bad experiences from someone so that they feel guilty or disappointed with themselves. Cutting means clawing, cutting, or slashing limbs. Cutting behavior seen from the perspective of Islamic Psychology is an act that is forbidden because the impact can kill lives. The touching heart method with Islamic counseling, Qalbun Healing with a Sufism approach, namely dhikr accompanied by prayer readings can be alternatives in healing from cutting behavior.

Abstract

At the end of the 20th century, a new scientific movement emerged in psychology called Islamic Psychology. Islamic psychology emphasizes the view of fitrah (sacred nature) in science. This science began when a book entitled "The Dilemma of Muslim Psychologists" was published, inspired, and awakened Muslim scientists in the world to return to the truth of Islam in psychology. The book was written by Malik Badri, who is known as the Father of Islamic Psychology. Seeing how big the role of Malik Badri in Islamizing psychology is, the researcher wanted to get a clear description of Malik Badri's biography, including the style of thought and the work produced. To get a biographical article, the researcher reviewed the literature/documents about Malik Badri like books, journals, news, and others about Malik Badri’s biography, creation, thought, etc with the design of a narratively qualitative approach. The data collected were analyzed by restorying stories. The result showed that there were so many contributions of Malik Badri for his discipline and also in the world society.
